It's been a while since I last posted anything on this forum. Things have been quite busy. Anyway, I wanted to update those of you who do not routinely visit the NASG web site with what has been added to the site recently. You can visit the web site here:
This year I have done some re-arranging of the content of the site, so as to make it easier to find stuff. As a result two new buttons have been added, namely the "Layouts" and "How-to" ones.
The "Layouts" button takes you to pages wherein I am quite literally trying to list every single "S" layout that exists or has existed, as far as the public is concerned (i.e. documented via web sites, online photo albums, magazine articles, YouTube videos, or owner-submitted photos). If you have not seen this section yet, be sure to visit it, because it is quite inspiring to see what other S modelers are doing. We have gotten several submissions from owners who have never had their layout be made known. Many of them have photos, and several of them include the full track plan. I do not list any geographical location information, so the general public should not be able to find out where the layout is located, unless it is shared via a web site link or a magazine article. I want to keep things private, while still allowing people to enjoy the great modeling that is happening.
The other new section to the web site is the "How-to" one. That is still a work in progress, but many pages are already flushed-out. Today I uploaded the content for the "Battery Power" page of that section, for example. Other under-construction pages will be updated soon.
With these revisions done (or at least "well defined"), I have also started to work on a revision of the web site to make it mobile-friendly. Currently it is hard or impossible to visit it with some cell phones (tablets, especially of rotated "wide-screen"/landscape, might be OK). Anyway, that is planned to be rolled out before the end of the year.
So, if you want to learn more about modeling in S-scale, are looking for some parts, or just want to be inspired, take a look at the web site. If you want to have your layout listed on the web site, check out this page:

Thank you,
- Peter (as NASG webmaster).
