I posted a pic of my new to me Nathan's Reefer on Buy anything Cool Lately;
What the photo doesn't show is the steps under the door are missing from the other side. I checked Lionel's web site and the steps under the door and on the corners are not available separately, the come with the body shell. Does anyone have any ideas for alternative steps or will I have to fabricate some myself?

Just looked at mine and they definitely look like they are separately applied (there are two nubs where the ladder passes through the bottom skirt of the body). You might check to see if Lionel has any other reefers which have the ladders available. If not, maybe someone around here could 3D print one.
Paul, reefer bodies on the Lionel web site are priced at $85, more than I paid for the whole car, if I can even find one that is not Out Of Stock. If no one knows of something similar used to detail basic models or for scale builders then I may have to pursue 3D printing services.
Joe - Maybe a dumb question but why don’t you ask NLOE if they have a replacement for you?
Mark this reefer is from 2016 and I got it on the secondary market. If I had gotten new from them or any other club I would have sought a replacement.
So I took another crack at the Lionel website, instead of searching for steel sided reefers to get exploded parts lists or reefer parts I searched stirrup steps and I believe I got lucky. I found side and corner stirrup steps for mechanical reefers. While I wasn't lucky enough to find any that were the right color green for the Nathan's reefer I found yellow side steps that may work as is or I could try to match the green. While I was ordering one of these I went ahead and ordered corner stirrups in a dark green color.
