NCE BD20 Current Sensor 60Hz Compatibility

We have a stretch of track we'd like to signal for occupancy. I'd like to use current sensing, but because we run DCS we can't have anything in series with the power feeds. The BD20 uses a transformer coil that doesn't disturb a DCC signal, but DCS is still at 60Hz. Does anyone know if it will work with a low-frequency AC source?
