I need someone to translate a set of measurements and photos of a prototype bridge into CAD/CAM files that will guide my 3D printer (or someone else's printer, if I end up jobbing the printing out).
The project: I am scratch-building a working model of the Cambridge Creek bridge (a fixed trunnion bascule bridge, for the detail oriented!) for the RFC train garden in my hometown on Maryland's Eastern Shore:
I'm well into fabricating the bases and lifting sections, and have sourced traffic control items to use at each end, and the bridge lights, but I've been a bit stumped by the concrete railings. The railing components appear to be modular, with three different shapes, each with a fair amount of detail cast in. The first has open, arched spaces under the rail:
The second (to the right below) is similar but solid below the railing:
The third is also solid, with bump-outs at each end:
Rather than tediously trying to model all this in basswood and/or create molds from which to repeatedly making castings, my hope is that someone can take these and other photos and measurements and translate them into 3D files, which I can then use to guide my simple filament printer. I don't have an endless budget, but I should be able to compensate you modestly for your effort. Anyone interested?
