A friend who runs conventional purchased a MTH SF F3 engine with PS3 (item number 20-20764-1) and could not get it to run. He asked me if I could bring it to my layout and get it running using my DCS system. I have powered the unit up and did a factory reset and everything now works except the headlight. The front headlight is only on when the engine is going backwards and cuts off when engine is going forward.
Is there a way to correct this issue.

The back of the engine has a door that opens where all the switches are that control conventional operation. One is for selecting which direction this PS-3 engine will operate in if used in a ABA set up. Flip the switch to Forward. G
Thank you G for the response. I guess I am guilty of not looking in the correct place. Not being familiar with PS3 protocol, I assumed the problem was with the programing of engine is DCS and was looking for a solution there for over an hour last evening. Never occurred to look in conventional operation instructions!

No problem. MTH went to this method when they did away with Slave engines for PS-3 Diesel. G
