Need SW 9 Expertise Please!

The model is a SW8. The SW9's single stack little brother. 800 HP Vs.1200.

I'm not an expert, however  as far as the color goes here is one  photo of 801:

Thank you both. Thru RickO's links, I found the Conrail Historical Society. Here's what I learned (they answered email today):

It is an SW9. It's a bit of a hybrid with a V8 567C that produces 900 horsepower, thus the one stack versus two.

SW9's had two stacks. SW900's had a single stack.  Not the same locomotives.

Just as a comment, A railfan can distinguish a GP35 from a GP40, But it takes a true diesel fan to tell apart all the different EMD switchers. NC, SC, NW, SW, TR. Now add in all the number variations. Hotwater could probably ace it.
