I'm running my new Atlas GP7 in conventional mode. According to the Atlas documentation, installing a 9-volt alkaline battery will provide for, "... interruption-free operation of RailSounds when the locomotive is operated with a conventional transformer." On this UP model, given the location of the horns on one side and the winterization hatch on the other side, I don't see how it is possible to remove the cover that allows access to the battery compartment.
What am I missing? Can anyone offer insight? Thanks in any case.
