Martin,

To the extent I still remember information I read on these forums  &online, on domestic 48’ & 53’ containers, they have the mounting & stacking holes in the same location as the international ISO 40’ & ISO 45’ containers, even though the domestic containers are slightly wider & slightly taller. So same Terex port cranes or Mi-Jack cranes could unload / load both containers since they use the lifting points are at the 40’ endsI found this photo on Flickr of a 53’ domestic container stacked over a 40’ ISO container which would not work well if the mounting holes weren’t aligned.

But I couldn’t find any information on loading / unloading ISO 20’ containers & both sets of the TTX Atlas Gunderson cars from the most recent run have markings that say “DO NOT LOAD 20 FT CONTAINER” as in the following photo.

These are just my opinion,

Thanks,

Naveen Rajan

Do the ywin stacksonly hold 48' containers or will they take 53's?

I put ball bearing trucks on the 5 car stack sets and they roll fantastic! They don't require any effort to move.

I imagine it's too late and would probably change the price if Atlas were to use actual bearings in their trucks. It is a great upgrade. I wish O scale would start using bearings and at least offer them as upgrades. There are some great rolling trucks without them but they don't have the detail of scale spinning caps that I know of??

The Protocraft trucks, if thats the one's you used, although super ( I own many sets) are incorrect for the Atlas Gunderson set, I recall from examination of the prototypes (not the rebuilds) that they are fitted with ASF's not the Barber s2's that the Protocraft ones are modelled on. I look forward to someone doing the ASF series in brass with bearings.

Say what you want about the front-runners... but I have the entire "city series", and you won't see those making an appearance in my "collection-thinning, forum for-sale ads" any time soon!  Those are definite keepers!!!

Right On David! I too have that set and added the BN White Stripped version too!
