Hi, I have the old OGR Digital app which i was able to download and view on.  Now there is a new app which i installed.

I have several mags on the old app and would like to transfer them to the new APP so i don't have to re-download them, is there a way to do that?

Also, on the NEW APP I can download, but cannot view when my mobile device data account is ON. Yes sounds strange.

My device is a Samsung Tab S2.,Is there a way to view when data account is on?.

Next would like to know if there is a way to download using my computer, and then transfer those files to the OGR APP, this way I can maintain the files and transfer the files to view when i am traveling..... just like other files for other programs, music, docs, videos etc. ?

Thanks.  BD

I would suggest you download the issues with the new app. It allows you to save the pdf files wherever you want to, so you can set up a folder for just OGR issues, if you wish. I don't recall if the old app did that or not.

I don't know what you mean by "data account." You had to be able to view something in order to be able to download the issue in the first place.

Yes, you can do this, but the file transfer process itself does not involve the OGR app. Once you download an issue to your computer, it's a PDF file, saved wherever you tell it to save. From that point on, it's just like any other file which you can transfer to your device any way you want to.

1. I don't see how to download the files anywhere i want to using the NEW APP.  What i am trying to do is take the files i have on the old APP and transfer them to the NEW app.

2. Hi, concerning the Data, I download via Wifi or the Mobile data from my service provider. After i download and with my mobile data turned on, i cannot open and view the magazines. When i turn off the mobile data i can view them. This is problematic because when i want to view the magazines, i have to turn the mobile data off and cannot receive emails, etc. So what i am trying to accomplish is to have my mobile data on and still view the Mags.

3. Understand the transfer of files to the computer via download and then transfer to my mobile device, So if i understand correctly If i download via the app i will have those publications on the app, but if i download via the computer there is no way to transfer those files to the app. ?

Also, in the Digital Library there are other publications, for example "The Best of Collectors Gallery" that i wanted to put in the New APP, so i can have everything in one location, but the new app does not seem to allow download of those other publications into the app.  Is there a way to do that. ?

Thanks. BD

You seem to be under the impression that the downloaded files are saved within the app itself. They are not.

Downloaded issues are pdf files that can be saved to your device just like any other downloaded file. The app just provides the process to download the files, but the files are not stored within the app itself. If you download the files to your computer, you can then transfer them to your device any way you want to. Again, the files are NOT stored in the app.

Everything in the OGR Digital Library can be downloaded. There are no restrictions on downloading.

With regard to your data account problem, that sounds like something’s wrong with your tablet. There is nothing in the app that would do this.

1. I understand that if i download the issues from my computer i can transfer them to the Tablet, but then i can only read them using my PDF file reader vice being able to read them via the APP.

1. Sorry to keep asking but, I downloaded the issues with the APP to my tablet, so if they are not on the app where are they? I have a couple file management apps on the tablet and cannot find them, I also connected the tablet to my computer and searched the Samsung files and the SD card and cant find them.

2. You said everything can be downloaded from the digital library, but when i log in and go to the library the only files that show up for downloading are the magazine files but not the other publications.

My goal is to be able to download via computer and transfer to the tablet and then read the issues and other OGR digital content from the APP only.

THanks for you patience.

The downloaded files are NOT saved in the app. They are PDF files and you read them via your PDF reader. That is how it works. There is an app called Goodreader that makes it very easy to read and manage PDF files on tablets. I now it's available for Ios devices. Not sure about Android. You might search for it in your app store.

The downloaded files are saved somewhere on your device. They are not saved inside the app itself. They are PDF files. I'm not familiar with your tablet, so I don't know how you control where downloaded files get saved.

2. You said everything can be downloaded from the digital library, but when i log in and go to the library the only files that show up for downloading are the magazine files but not the other publications.

This is what you should see when you log into the OGR Digital Library on a computer. The Digital Books and article reprints are right at the top of the page.

That's not how it works. As I said above, the downloaded files are PDF files and once they are downloaded, you read them via your PDF reader.
