New Lionel L1 Mikado - Not seeing drawbar signal? No engine sounds.

Not that it will help much but if you swap the engine and tender to another Legacy engine and tender that will tell you if the problem is the engine or tender.

I have had to RMA 3 engines this year. (Not bought these from Nassau)  Just contact Lionel. Turn around is not bad. 3 weeks maybe. They pay for all the shipping.

Actually, that was a great idea!  Never thought of that.

I put a different tender behind the engine, and all sounds work.  So, it's something with the tender.

Sean...this topic, just like the one yesterday, was moved by the mods because you are posting these in the wrong category/forum.  For everyone as a reminder:  Read the definition of 3-rail scale found at the beginning of this forum.

With regards to this topic, it is a question about a problem having to do with a LIONEL locomotive thus should have been posted in the Lionel general topics category/forum.  It has been moved accordingly.         

Gearbox lash issues, color, and Sean's sound problem aside.

This is the first engine in a dozen years that actually has silent smoke fan motors.

One step forward on the smoke fans, two steps back on everything else I suppose.
