Ran into this ad on E-bay for this absolute best synthetic oil for K-line or any other train I suppose. It sells for $6.99 plus2.80 for S&H for about a 2or 3oz. bottle. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this product? Curious Fil Fillion

There was a thread on this oil a while back.
As always, opinions varied.
Who knows what is in this stuff?
Unless things have changed, there are no MDS sheets on it, or a web site.
There are lubricants that will attack paint and plastics.
I'll stay will mainstream products.
This subject has been discussed many time over on the 3-Rail Trains Forum.
I use that lube exclusively. Its a good product. I use it mainly on rolling stock axles. I have never seen it cause any problems with plastic or nylon bushings.

I use snake oil1 But it is hard to get in my ward at the home

I have a bottle of it. Works fine. But, I'm sticking with my tried and true La Belle family of lubricants.
I have a sneakin' hunch that it's repackeged Automatic Transmission Fluid. If true why didn't I think of this.?

I use motor oil. It supposedly attacks plastic, which, if true, will render my two rail wheelsets 3-rail. But since I have been using it for three decades with no failures, I suspect it will not affect my hobby enjoyment. It has real staying power, unlike hobby lubricants.
Tri-Flow is one of the better exotic lubricants. Expensive, but not six bucks per three ounce can.
The important thing is to use some lubrication. La Belle is tried and true, and a little cheaper than this eBay stuff.
Although I still have some LaBelle No. 107 and No. 102 oils around, I currently purchase nothing but "EXCELLE LUBRICANTS" products. They have about a dozen different oils and greases, that are ALL plastic compatible, and the light oils are even conductive (for pick-up rollers). At my local hobby shop, the "XL" oils are only $6.99 each.
For what it's worth, the man behind "XL" is the same gentleman that started LaBelle, many, many years ago.
When using lubricants only use a non chlorinated product. I personally like Zep NC in bulk. A drop or two does wonders.
