Picked up a neat Marx steam engine, electric, today and I would like to know what is. Has a dark gray boiler, black cab, a silver, black and red striped piece on the side, black boiler front and cow catcher, smoke stack, hand rails and steam dome. The sack and dome are tear-drop shaped. The stack has red plastic in it to make it glow. It is an 04-0, light wear, runs good. Anyone know what model it is ??

sounds like a marx canadian pacific 495.
Thanks
By your description of the dark gray boiler my guess is it's a Marx Canadian Pacific 3000 (B). Made 1939-41 and 1946-52.
Thanks for the info. The sideboards look silver with a broad black stripe with red trim. There is a silver and black decal on the upper boiler front that looks like an air inlet which made me suspect it was a CP. There is a Marx logo on the cab floor. Lots of small paint chips but looks OK not worn out or dirty. While in the store someone brought in a Marx wind up train that looked brand new bot no box. Even the 2 rail track looked new. The owner wanted me to buy it, I know cheap but I only have so much room and $$ for stuff like that.
