Dan,

I just set up a google form, anyone who would like to take the "survey" can go ahead and do it at this link:

https://goo.gl/forms/CboF0q8ZvWBoI4zL2

After maybe a day or two we can release the results (don't worry names are completely private) and delete the "survey."

BTW: It even includes those of us who are in other scales!

Just my opinion, but I do not think this is such a good idea. Since there have already been 80+ replies here on the Forum, introducing another method for replying will just muddy the waters and possibly lead to duplicate responses skewing the end result. Plus, I'd bet most of us on here know nothing about google forms (I certainly plead ignorance).

I tabulated posts 1 through 80. There are 73 responses. 19 posters (26.0%) are conventional users. 38 posters (52.1%) are command control users and 16 posters (21.9%) use both conventional and command control. The average age of conventional users is 48.7 years. The average age of command control users is 57.7 years. The average age of those using conventional and command control is 55.3 years.

53.

03R:  Conventional and (reluctantly) TMCC.  I need TMCC to run TMCC and Legacy scale engines which do not operate well conventionally (not that they operate all that well on TMCC, either, given the problems I am having with engines being so touchy about clean track and rollers).

0n30:  Conventional and (reluctantly) DCC.  I need DCC because our club layout uses it, and some of my engines are not dual mode.

02R:  Conventional.  Just dabbling with antediluvian AHM stuff.  It will NOT be DCCed.

I could actually run the results through my statistics software that I use for work and see if we can come up with any interesting correlations.
