I know this isn't exactly O Gauge, does anybody know what happened to the G-Scale layout from the center of the store at Nicholas Smith Trains? I think it used to be a Wanamaker's layout, but don't know much more. When was it removed?
At lease there is a new O/HO layout up and running.

It was removed this past year. They needed more space so something had to go. I believe the layout was put into storage.
Plus it was getting old in the tooth.
It was at Wanamaker's back in the day. I do not know where it is now.
With all the inventory that Nicholas Smith Trains typically has on hand, they can NEVER have enough display space. 
Ideally, store train layouts (at least in the traditional sense) should "inspire" train enthusiasts to dream about something THEY can build in their own homes. And in doing so, spend $$$ at the store. 
I don't think the G-Scale layout quite fit that bill anymore. So it was probably a wise decision to replace it's footprint with display shelves containing product.

MAYBE THEY WOULD SELL IT TO CLEAR UP SPACE IN THE WAREHOUSE. Just a thought.
