Just saw her yesterday in Portland and confirmed nothing has happened since they fired up the donor motor.

The motors have not yet been energized as the heavy duty electrical cables between the electrical cabinet and the motors have not yet been installed. The main diesel engine has been started and run for awhile, however.

With all the work being done on SP 4449, McCormack has not had much time for working on the NKP 190.

Yeah, that was what I was talking about. I assumed that most folks here would understand that I was referring to the diesel engine itself that was started up but the unit can't move by itself yet...

No, it was not capable of running at that event. It was towed across the country and back to get to/from Spencer.

Thanks Rich.  I do not recall it running and/or pulling anything but thought may have just missed it with everything that was going that day.

No. Originally Santa Fe, by way of the D&H then to Mexico.
This isn't the SP daylight painted one from Mexico is it?
No. That one still belongs to that museum down in Mexico. The N de M purchased all four of the former Santa Fe PA units from the D&H, and used them for many years in Mexico. Two of the four units were wrecked and used for parts, which are the two that McCormack removed from Mexico. The second unit, eventually went to Frisco Texas, for their museum, and will be cosmetically restored there.

Yes, quite some years ago. Thieves broke into the old Brooklyn Roundhouse and stole all the cabling. Replacements have since been procured, and should begin installation as soon as SP 4449 is back in service.

Looks like the Original Poster may have something here!

OK, so the main engine runs! However there still are no cables connecting the traction motors to the high voltage electrical cabinet, no mater WHAT that photo shows.

and from the looks of that photo it appears the side grills are still missing.

He is still working an making those grills. All that aside, the McCormack PA #190 is the most complete Alco PA in either the U.S. or Canada!

If you look at the post date is says October 8th, 2013. That may have been when they fired up the Diesel Engine, but the locomotive has not moved around on its own power as of yet.

That picture is from the day the engine was first started up.  Just the Engine it was not energized to the traction motors.  The wiring is not hooked up.  How would I know, thats my arm in the picture.  Until the 4449 is done I don't expect much work to be done on the PA.  Also we need to finish the drop table and the PA will be placed there and the 4449 will be put in the forward position at ORHF.
