What's going on with MTH Parts? Whats the delay?

They've never been the fastest folks on the planet, so I suspect it's normal. It usually takes me at least a month to get parts that are in stock. I think they're just short-handed if I had to guess.
It's well known that their parts dept has terrible response time. They regularly give promises that it will get better, but no real improvement has been seen.
I wish MTH would do something about their parts problem. They don't have parts for newer stuff let alone something that's a few years old. I just passed up buying another engine on E-Bay because there are no parts for it.
They do not have the staff necessary to fill orders in a timely fashion. Plus the process them in alphabetical order instead of FIFO. Depending on where they are in the rotation it can be anywhere from a week to over a month

They are not the only one. Parts are no longer available for a lot of Lionel products.
Maybe, but for the parts they do have, you can have them pretty quickly.
Jon, where did that photo come from? Having been inside the parts department many times, I can say that is a new photo to me.
Parts have been shipping. If anyone reading this post has something late (good condition) that needs parts, please sell me the engine and your problem is gone.
Marty, I'm sure that's a joke, note the empty shelves. I've been in there as well, and it doesn't look like that. There were a few parts on the shelves.
John, I know it is a joke. It was funny. I wonder if the poster has ever been there. I follow the rock throwing at the parts department very close. I have some long time friends in the department. As you know first hand, it needs to be sped up. The guys are working hard to get it done. I have also seen guys throw rocks who do not know where MTH is located. They just like to be heard. I carefully read posts from guys like yourself, Barry, Paul, and many others who have been there.
Feet,l what parts did your ebay queen need? Did you check with MTH to confirm the parts are unavailable?

Marty, as GRJ suggested, the photo of empty shelves was intended as humor. It was also meant to illustrate the absurd notion that MTH hasn't any parts. Of course there's parts. I certainly didn't intend to ruffle feathers or make a negative comment regarding MTH and their service department. There's no doubt that MTH is an industry leader and rightfully well respected.
For years I've always dealt with Midge in the MTH parts dept. Never had a problem. She would go the extra mile to help. It is summer and maybe people are on vacation.
Actually, Midge is a pleasure, but when you order through the technician side, you do it all on the web, and you just have to wait until they process the orders.
Yup no Midge for techs.
In actuality if one person is always the person people have to go to to get things done, then your organization has a big problem. You should be able to get equal service from anyone who is answering the phone

It needs some marker lights that mount on top of the boiler, yes i checked with MTH. Did MTH ever print parts manuals for their premier engines? I sure would like to have some, at least i would have the part numbers.
They had parts for my 1996 PS-1 locomotive when I needed them. Yes, they are busy and it took a while to get the parts, but the service was acceptable to me.
Feet, those parts are available. I must have about 30 sets in my parts invintory. If you want to hit my email, I can send you a great MTH parts list.
Marty, if you have a different parts list, I'd like to get a copy.
