About 4 this morning, NS derailed 20-or-so cars of an e.b. freight near Ligonier, IN, on the former NYC. Couple hazmats involved. Amtrak 28/29 and 48/49 are using combinations of detouring and buses between Toledo and Chi. No injury reports, but major mess to clean up. It seems to me that this NS route has more than its share of such mishaps. Any one else have details here?

Honestly, after all these derailments, you would think Indiana has the worst trackage in the country.
The only information I can add is that I saw a few trains yesterday afternoon, including an intermodal train, being diverted east from Elkhart toward White Pigeon and Sturgis along the NYC's Old Road. I am not certain of the route they are using east of there since it is my understanding the Old Road no longer connects to Toledo.
This article from the Fort Wayne News Sentinel has a little more information:

Yeah...sorta like with all those plane crashes, flying must not be safe. Right.
Of course, we didn't hear anything about the 10,000 other trains that ran on Monday that didn't derail.
You have to interpret news like this in proper context.
The line is now open for business, with the usual precautions after a derailment. I think the 2 Amtrakers will operate to/ from Chi 2morrow.
Sounds like a job for prototype "pizza cutter" flanges.
