The first issue of OGR was published in mid-1969. Hard copies of those early issues are almost impossible to find. However, they are available digitally on CD.
OGR Digital Archive Volume 1 contains runs 1 through Run 60.
OGR Digital Archive Volume 2 contains runs 61 through 111.
OGR Digital Archive Volume 3 contains runs 112 through 135.
Check 'em out!
Whoa, I did not realize OGR has been around for that long!
I started collecting OGR back around 2000ish.

I started picking OGR up around the time I bought my first O loco....MTH RK J 611, but did not know they went back to the 1960's!!
I believe OGR was a 1990s transformation. Earlier versions were known as O Scale Railroading, and were all 2– rail content. Some bound volumes can be found.
When Myron Biggar purchased OSR, its original intent was to combine 2- rail and 3- rail. That intent was part of the title, believe it or not. The name change came shortly thereafter.
When it became clear that the majority of O gauge was 3-rail, all pretense was dropped, and today's OGR was in place by the mid- 1990s.
My first issue of OGR is from August 1991 (Run 118).
There is an ad in it where you could buy back issues starting with the April 1977 (Run 49) issue for $2.00 each.
I first read O Scale Rail-Roading early in 1987. They published a article about my Christmas layout in the Oct. '87 issue. They must have been desperate for material
back then. Later it became OGR.
I used to get bound volumes and have many years worth. Then the CD's came out, OGR stopped making bound volumes, so that's where my collection ends.
I started as as subscriber around Run 99.
I have all the HSL CDs. I just gave one of my modular associates all of my paper copies to read. I love the on-line version. I can see the time coming when I'll be on-line only.
