Great day at the train show!!

Found this B&O beef set for $45!!! And a NJ Transit beef for $25. Also got a green 6462 gondola for $12. One **** of a deal on the beefs. I asked the guy if he knew anything about RMT trains, he said nope had gotten them in a trade and didn't think anyone would buy them. Haha lucky me!

Nice haul! I nabbed the Santa Fe set of Beefs from the same guy. Knew that stuff wasn't gonna last at those prices. He also had a set of RMT depressed center flats for $25 that I shoulda grabbed.

Based on the amount of empty tables, it looked like about 25% of the dealers couldn't/didn't get here account the weather. Happy with my haul but the O gauge pickings were slim IMHO. Nice to see MTH here though. Think that's the first time they've ever made this show...

O guage were very slim picking.. A Fair amount of post war... Ton of mpc stuff...

I've been trying to find some prewar engines.. They were way over priced.

I did get a lot of joy out of the HO layout. There was a kid who's dad was running with one of the clubs. His dad just bought him a really nice Bigboy locomotive. He hooked it up to an empire builder passanger set, this kid was like glued to this engine followed it with his nose no farther then 12 inches from it the whole time

Thanks for the kind comment.  The layout you mention was set up and operated at the OKC train show by members of the Standard Gauge Module Association (SGMA).  With only four members present, it was a lot of work but the reception we received from both show attendees and the other modular layout clubs was fantastic and the smiles and laughter of the kids watching our Standard Gauge tinplate trains made all our efforts worthwhile.  We look forward to attending future OKC train shows.

Yes there was some really nice standard gauge there.  I don't know if you have been to the show in the past, but attendance was way off this year due to the ice and snow.  Normally there are no empty booth spaces and there are so many people you can't get around.  There is always an o-gauge layout or two.  If you are around, attend again next year.  It is a great show and the Oklahoma Railway Museum does an outstanding job!!!

This would be my last year attending the show. I've been going the last 3 years since being stationed at Tinker AFB. I'll be moving back to Lancaster next July! But it's always fun going.

Was great to see Mike Morgan there with his live steam engine. It's great seeing a local TV star in the hobby. When KFOR posted a link on their Facebook page I was suprised by the comments "tell mike to get in his train and steam south" you'd think the general public would be over that by now...
