Absolutely. I have a set. They are very nice and should be reasonably priced. Grab it.
Well its nice for a toy but no where near MTH Quality and detail or the Lionel 18" superliner quality.
yes they are more on the toy side. just was wondering about things like zink pest or other things that accompany older models such as this. I have a few williams pieces and they are not bad for the money. I have the mth bi level amtrack californian set with matching engine. they are really nice cars. the williams cars look nice as far as overall looks go. to me at least. just wish they had interiors, but for the price I dont mind the siloets. thanks for the info guys.
I advise to remove the spacer between the trucks and frame, as I did in photo as cars sit too high from factory. You can cut strips of window tint and slip them in front of the silhouettes. No zinc pest as the cars are aluminum with stamped steel frames.

All of the older Williams traditional sized passenger cars - Madison and aluminum - are good deals when compared to anyone else's. Some trucks are plastic, some metal, but I've never seen any zinc pest.
Yes,they are very nice cars. I still have a brand new set of the Williams 5 full scale Amtrak cars, never been run and still in their original boxes. They are for sale $299 plus shipping, if anyone is interested. I like the tip with window shading...nice touch.
I had a set that I gifted to one of my evil apprentices, but I always thought they'd make a good base for detailing. They were from the early days, like their Weaver counterparts -- no interiors, but acceptable appearance at 20" long rather than the 60-foot shorties. If you can get a set at a good price, I'd say go for it.
I have sets of Williams Superliners, Amfleet coaches, and D&H, Lackawanna, PRR and NYC 60 foot aluminum cars. Look great and were priced right. I have them intermixed with Lionel and MTH aluminum cars, and you cannot tell one from the other. My favorite set is a Williams D & H Berkshire pulling a set of MTH D & H aluminum cars which I run daily. Toys? No way.
