Hello all ....1950 ScaleCraft reissues their Class H Northern  ...  an article late 1950 in MR by DR Casper details how to build a Challenger from a SC Boiler and Varney chassis parts ... please see link for video ... engine is none too happy with the 30" radi ......  looking for 36" ...

Hello all ..thank you for your kind words ....I'm using a lab DC generator ... as I was playing with the  Nason Consolidation the day before and being prewar ..runs at about 9 volts ... link to see Nason OO

Passenger cars are Scale Craft ... diecast .and .the post war sheet metal sides ....Walthers never entered into OO   to the best of my knowledge ....

 

please see images of standard SC Class H Northern ....and the Challenger ..  you can see the the line on the boiler where is was cut  just behind the front sand dome ... about 21/2" was added ... makes a nice engine in my book

yes that is Tru- Scale track ...works great ...just not quite wide enough radi .....need to find a loop of 36" currently 30" ... the HO loop is also Tru-Track  30" radi ...
