You can always sell that one as a scratch n' dent special! Seriously though that is still beautiful work and would be a shame to see it go to waste. Perhaps you could heavily weather that one, leave the damage, and have it represent caboose #20112 as it appeared at end of life and in distress.
Malcolm that is still a neat cab and Nick is right in making that cab an older, weathered version with the 'Black' markings.
You have to try and salvage it, as it would be a shame to waste a whole car.

Ouch is right, especially after all that work. I have repaired dings like that by taking some styrene rod, chucking it in a drill press and holding 100 girt sandpaper to it to make a powder. Then add some Tenax to make a paste and apply like Bondo. Sand smooth and bobs your uncle.

Got it repaired. I will go ahead and paint it and sell it as "damaged but repaired."
Tom, I will trade it primed with platforms and underframe for a Lionel I12 cab (any road name except Chessie) or Lionel PS1 boxcars with 6' doors. I need both for repaints.
