Paint Colors for US Army and Navy Railroad Cars

JanOGR Forum Member DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER

What would be the appropriate color for US military awned railroad cars during and after WWII (1940-1955 the end of steam). I have see shades of olive drab, black, gray, plus many others. The B&W films from that era don't help.

Can anyone provide a reference?
