I was wondering if the PRR Congressional survived into the Penn Central era or did the Pennsy discontinue it before? I know some of the cars did survive after the PC and were retired by Amtrak.

The Congressional name, at least, survived well into Amtrak. I rode Amtrak's afternoon Congressional a number of times in the early '90's before they dropped the names from the Northeast Corridor trains.

Thanks juniata guy, I just found some info about the Amtral congressional but it seems the Penn Central is all but forgotten. I can't find any info on the Congressional during the PC era. I did reletter a old set of Williams Pennsy Congressional cars to PC and did put the correct car names also. It was a easy transformation since the old Williams paper labels peeled right off and I printed decals by using arial bold italac fonts for the Penn Central and downloaded the PC worms from the internet. I have a Lionel shorty GG1 and WBB F3 to pull them but eventually will get a WBB scale GG1. I have Pennsy Tuscan and Green 5 stripers and they are great runners.
