You need to look up the "Rachel Barton incident" on METRA in the Chicago area from manny years ago. She wouldn't let go of her violin, fell and lost one leg. She sued METRA, got millions, and is now an accomplished Violinist.

..........but it was a Stradivarius! Theres a pun in here somewhere about costing "an arm and a leg" but I won't go there.
On the scanner, I heard a very similar incident while it was happening yesterday on the Amtrak Springfield Line in Connecticut. Train crew notified the dispatcher and police. Don't know whether the fool was caught.
