DOC, I couldn't have said it better. All week at work I kept thinking about Saturday.

Patrick....thank you for such a great experience. Everything was "top shelf". The food.....YUM! The layout was better than I last remember......the friendship....sharing.....laughter....wow...all great. I hope to see some pix show up here....I saw lots of guys snapping shots.

You are a most gracious and generous host....the best! I also know you had help from several of your pals ....Thom especially in the kitchen(spiral cut ham....awesome)   and John Brady's contributions for the door prizes with a raffle to benefit Wounded Warriors...what a nice touch! Scott Graham also contributed, and I was the lucky winner of his generous offering.....I had a ball, and everyone I talked to did as well!

Spence,

Patrick was busy with the camera, so I would assume he and others will be posting.  I loved all those articulated locomotives!  Everything was great.  And yes, a big thank you to John Brady, too!  Also, thank you to Thom and his wife for the neat custom cars, one was commemorating this event at Patrick's, and the other commemorating the outdoor hockey game between the Penguins and Black Hawks, which was being played while we were at Patrick's

thanks to Patrick, the Hi Railers who helped get it all together, Patrick son and GF for putting up with all of us and everyone who attended. It was a great day of trains, fun, and friends.

I can can only hope someday to return the favor. I learned about upgrading DCS sound files, Dave gave some good info on Big Boys and I got to see some really cool G gauge trains run. Something I was looking forward to.

i can't say enough about how great the evening was.

I didn't spend much time in the train room.  I've been to Patrick's before and wanted to let folks enjoy the trains.

First off a big thank you to Patrick for opening up his house and for all the people that helped to make this happen.  This type of event is what makes this hobby so great.  Met so many nice people and gained some knowledge as well.  My family and I had an unbelievable time.  My two boys who are ages 9 and 7 loved every minute.  It was great to see kids through adults having fun with trains.

What a great time last night! The effort of those who made this possible was outstanding. Thank you ALL for the demonstrations, prizes, food, and those who brought trains to run and share with all of us. Thank you Patrick H for hosting this event. A great time was had by all. It was also nice to see a few kids there really enjoying and getting involved in the hobby.

Patrick....looks like your open house was THE event to attend!!  Beautiful layout, pictures, great food, and wonderful friends....how much better can it get??!!  Patrick...your talents go beyond just being a master modeler, you are a top notch host and great guy.  I enjoyed meeting you...even though it was briefly at the Lionel open house and have enjoyed our emails to one another.  AND...those hoppers that once traveled your layout are now adding up miles on my "Twin Lakes Central"....  I will take you up on your offer to a visit and hopefully we will be able to do that some day soon...

Alan

As my daughter who was reluctant to go said about our evening at Patrick's, "It was awesome!".  And it was.  My daughter, son, and myself couldn't stop talking about the great time we had.  Thanks Patrick for hosting such a fantastic event!

I truly regret that I was not able to make it over to Patrick's home for what obviously was a splendid event.  I had planned to go and hoped to attend, but arrived home too late in the afternoon (early evening, actually) to make the long drive.  I guess I'm getting old!

In any event, I hope Patrick will see fit to invite me over at some point--especially after this lousy winter weather clears--so I can see first-hand what he has accomplished with his railroad.  And there's also the matter of a full-blown feature for the magazine to consider….

My wife was very impressed with the graphics on the custom car.  And to think, I won it while that very outdoor game was being played in Chicago.  Many thanks to Doc and his wife.

Allan, I'm sorry you couldn't make it.  I met you once at Mercer Junction Shoppe, and would have liked to have met you again.  Thank you and all of OGR for this forum.

Air powered G! For our G scale fans this is the LGB Fortuna Flyer, propelled exclusively by the propeller, protected by metal safety grills, which I picked up about 20 years ago. Photos re-posted from above.

I wish I could have been there! Patrick and Jacque are superb hosts, as all who attended found out. I hope to visit them again later this year, though.

Patrick's layout and the renowned skill he has demonstrated building it are now deservedly famous. And what about his magnificent house - is it not as admirable and wonderful as is his layout? And did you know that other from the obvious portions that would clearly have to be subcontracted, he and Jacque built their house themselves?

This is very true , however when your surrounded by a bunch of selfless guys that love the hobby and are motivated to have others enjoy themselves ,it is more fun for all of us than work. I see this in some other clubs as well.I even seen some clubs supporting other clubs . Its a good feeling.

Alex,

I sent her and kids away for this one...Doc took care of of everyone...
