This is what we strive for at this event, and it is why they keep asking us back.

We want to put on the best show possible, and judging by the looks on peoples' faces and the comments we get, the extra work certainly paid off.

Merry Christmas!

I would offer the observation that such efforts pay-off forever. You never know how many lives are touched when a public model train layout is experienced (Note, I didn't simply say "seen."). And some lives are touched deeply. (Look at all of us in our hobby. We sure got hit hard by what we saw as youths seeing train layouts!)

Putting up a display and operating it, esp. at this time of year, is a significant responsibility toward others. We want everything to go perfectly so that nobody has anything but a positive impression, if just out of respect for others, not only for the hobby and its enjoyment of trains.

That beautiful layout and its cheerful venue spoke volumes to people. You gave them joy. That is precisely why we combine such efforts with having a Merry Christmas. You have given joy to others. Joy. Like the Light of the World. IMHO.
