Be strong, and think positive. I wish you well and a strong recovery.
Best of luck with that. You'll be in our prayers.
I can do better than that! Offer you reassurance it's no big deal. My sister (now retired) did that for a living and gave me the impression it's a routine procedure she performed several times daily.
What, me worry?
p.s. Get a second opinion, if you have not already done so.

Chessie, prayers & best wishes to you. I know this must seem daunting, but these procedures are very commonplace today. May the Lord provide you peace as you go through this process.
Chessie,
We're with you, Brother !
Stay strong.

Chin up chessie-
Good news is this is cake walk surgery now a days... and the recovery time has been greatly reduced.
Hoping for your speedy good health...
My thoughts and prayers are with you Jeff. Keep a positive attitude going in. It makes all the difference.
"Please say a prayer for me..."
Done: for peace, healing, comfort and more.

You got it, Brother. Hang tough and it will be fine.
Be encouraged....this is a very common procedure nowadays. You'll be fine, but you'll be in our prayers, too.
Now....for a bit of old related humor....
Years ago....I'd say 35-40, in fact...one of my higher-up bosses had a pacemaker installed. He was a ripe old age of about 45 at the time!!!....and knew his lifestyle/diet was in need of change. Anyway, his cardiologist said the pacemaker was needed. As Dick (the 'patient') told the story, as he was coming to in recovery, his cardiologist said 'Everything's fine! But, if I were you, I'd keep a pocket full of quarters on you at all times!...understand??'
'Why's that?'
'Well, just so you remember that you need to change your lifestyle and diet, I installed a coin-operated pacemaker. It takes quarters...twice daily. When your pacemaker vibrates, put in another quarter!' All this was told with a dead-pan straight, serious face.
The cardiologist was well-known to several of our company's managers. He was, pardon the pun, a real 'card'. Well, Dick didn't know this, though, and as he told us later, coming out of the anesthetics he bit on it...hook, line, sinker. A few short moments later, however, as the attending nurses and his cardiologist broke into laughter, he realized the foil!
But the message took. He did, indeed, change his lifestyle/diet.....for a while.
BTW, if you attend the York meets, take a pass on the scrapple and funnel cakes!
God bless,
KD

That's to bad. The good thing is you get an upgrade that will last a long time. The question is , PS2 or PS3.
First prayers be with you at this scary time. I know I've been thru it twice now first time you think all is lost get it out of your mind I have a defibrillator/pacemaker I can get to the point my heart is beating so fast it can't pump blood so if that happens it will shock me and then the pacemaker will kick in and bring me back up to normal rithum .This first was done at age of 51 I'm now 60 and doing well in that sense anyway. Please calm down it will make things a lot better for you, your family, and your medical team trust me you will be fine this is a eveyday thing now days.
May the lord bless you and all around you and keep us in touch how things went
You will be pleasantly surprised with the procedure. Had it done last December. It took about 45 minutes and never felt a thing. We both are very lucky that the technology is available to extend the quality of our lives.
Prayers sent!
I know a lot of people with pacemakers and not one regrets having it. Neighbor has one with an implanted defibrillator that has saved him twice now and we're all grateful. You'll feel better almost immediately.
Prayers being sent for you Jeff. Hang in there buddy!
Yes - Chessie System - Jeff,

Jeff
I am of an age where I know many people with pacemakers. They all feel much better than they did before the operation. You should be fine!
Al
Good Day Cheesie,
I pray to God for a speedy recovery for you! I wish you the best in life.
Regards,
Frank
Had a pacer/defib put in last June, done early in the morning and by the afternoon all that visited were amazed at the difference it made.
Be sure and go thru the manufacturer's data sheet as well as talk to your cardiologist as to items that could cause interference. My wife and I did find one item that was not listed anywhere. Some but not all of the keyless entry/remote start systems on autos may require a minor modification to reduce the risk of interference.
Prayers that all goes well.
On a lighter note.. It will add to your already Electric Personality!
Good luck, all will go well.

And back on a serious note, hope all goes well!

Jeff,
I certainly will say a prayer, in fact I'll add you to my list. Praying the pacemaker helps you get well.
I too am truly amazed at how good they are nowadays. We had a guy at work get a triple bypass, I believe? He was released the same day!
They did neck surgery on me too. I wasn't that nervous as I knew I needed help. I just said a prayer the night before, more for the doctors than myself.
Our bodies wear out on us. They know how to fix us up!
May God bless you!
May God bless you and your family and a speedy recovery! It's always scary going under the knife, but you have my prayers.
My wife had one put in 2 years ago. Easy operation and you will recover quickly.Best of luck.
Hope all goes well and best of health!!!
