A little video for you...Rich Murnane
I try to remember to pray every day for those who suffer in any manner.
Hoppy
Thanks again for the prayers everyone!!
Chessie, If I may make a suggestion, the pacer/defib they implanted in me is one of the largest they make so it looks kinda like I got a hockey puck under my skin. I was not allowed to drive for several weeks but when I could my best friend was a sheepskin seatbelt cover. Eliminates about 99% of the pressure to make for a comfortable drive.
Think this is the only time I would liked to have had a right hand drive car.
Thoughts & prayers continue.
Here is update from today 11/17/15.Update on me i seen doctor Schmidt today at WVU Heart Institute in Morgantown. He is going to put ICD in me its suppose to slow my heart down its similar to pacemaker but different. He also said if i don't get this done i only have 2% to 3% chance to recover from Heart Attack if i'm not shocked back into Rhythm within 5 mins. He said mine was really low. The nurse suppose to call me to set up date to have the IDC put in at later date.
Additional prayers for a successful surgery, and full recovery.

I'm 51 years old and I'm on my second device and my second set of leads, both replaced this past summer because one lead wire broke in the heart and they wanted to install a device that can be MRI'd just in case I needed it in the future. It might sound scary now but later on you'll look back and say it was not a big deal. My only advise is find out if you can get a device that can be MRI'd and if your doctor gives you any physical limitations, LISTEN! Good Luck!!
Paul
Thanks for the Update
prayers out to you and your medical team

So instead of a pace maker you are having a defibulator installed due to possibility of rhythm issue. I have a combo defib/pacemaker. My heart rate gets to slow when I sleep and I have the same heart issue that athlete's drop dead from.
Let us know when your surgery is.
BTW, you won't be driving after your surgery.
You got it!
I found out from my heart doctor today that i have to get pacemaker put in.
Stay strong and take care of yourself once they put it it. Prayers to you and your family.
May God Bless and Keep You!
Jeff,
You are still on my prayer list. Each time I see your photo here or on FaceBook, I remember to pray for you. You are in the master physician's hands!
Prayers for you, good sir!

Just talked to my neighbor, and that's the kind he has. It has saved his life at least twice. He's 83 and gets around better than I do most days and says what the pacemaker/ICD users here do--you'll never believe how much better you'll feel once you have it installed.
Well, Jeffrey, it's good news that they have a plan. Others who have had similar problems certainly are giving positive feedback about the results they have obtained, so, I am still looking forward to your post in which you tell them that they are absolutely correct!
And, of course, I am still praying daily for that good outcome.
Stay strong Jeff.

Thanks again everyone for the prayers! Update i had my surgery yesterday 12/10/15 and everything went great except i am sore from the cut on my chest.
The pain will go away, You will start feeling better very soon.
Merry Christmas to all and Happy Hanukkah to my Jewish friends.
Great news! Relax and hope you feel better soon.
Congrats on making it through your surgery. I don't recall much pain but I tolerate better than the average person. I actually woke up during my procedure when they were tucking it under my skin. I find the feeling strange to this day of the defibulator under my skin. They actually had me shower the next day in the hospital. There was a clear plastic patch over the area that protected it from water. I'm a side sleeper. They didn't want me sleeping on my side. I found sticking a pillow under my back tilted me so I could sleep.
Let me know if you get the phantom shock.
Chessie1971, excellent news!!! We're keeping you in our thoughts. My uncle had quite a variety of heart devices in his day, and he lived into his late 80's with them. He often joked he was today's version of the bionic man!!!
