Just in time for Christmas, I just completed my version of the Polar Express and I named it for my Grandson THE RYDER EXPRESS. I restored 2 Lionel 610 and one 612 passenger cars, painted them Polar Express colors, Took pictures of all my Grandsons family and mounted them in the windows. I added 2 extra lights in each car and changed the trucks to post war so they would connect to his engine. The cars look great and I'm sure he will be thrilled on Christmas day.

that looks great Gene!
That does look great. I really like the idea of the family pictures in the windows, that's a great idea. I am sure it will be a hit!
That's pretty neat what you did there Gene. Cool stuff.
Awes Me!
This is a great example of the kind of thing we need more of - a creative approach that results in a one-of-a-kind item. Looks like fine workmanship, and it gets the kids involved. Well done.
That's cool! Are the pictures printed on transparency film or regular paper?
That's awesome! I'm sure your grandson will love it
Looks good!
Would look really cool if someone did it to an AF Hudson set.

I tried transparencies but you could not see the pictures when the lights were off. I printed the pictures on photo paper and I got to see them both ways. the only problem is that they are a little more fragile. but it worked. everyone loved them on Christmas Day.
Great idea with the photos. I've been contemplating what to do and now I know.
