I would like to get some input on power for our new layout. I am considering 4 options.
A) Lionel ZW L
B) Z-4000
C) Another TPC-400 w/180 Bricks
D) None of the above
Some information to help you along. We currently have a 9x14 layout powered by a TPC-400 and 2-180 Powerhouse Bricks. There are 3 mains, an 0-54 outside loop, a 0-42 inner loop with a small yard and a 0-31 elevated loop. There is also a CW-80 for aux power. The layout is 100% Legacy.
The new layout will be 13x24 with an aisle down the center. I plan on 6 main tracks. A subway ( 036 )under the table top, 2 mains ( 080 & 072 ) with passing and parking on the first level. The next level will also be double mains (063-054) with passing sidings and a large yard (10-12 spurs). The elevated third level will be 031. I plan on using multipe units and perhaps more than one train on a main. The layout will stay 100% Legacy.
Will I have enough power with 2 TPC's or do I need to consider on of the bigger transformers?
