I would like the ability to tap someone’s email address in their profile and it takes us directly to email screen. Any possibility?

I don't think forum software is set up to send/receive e-mail. Sending messages, YES; sending e-mail, NO. Therefore, doing what you propose might be a function of the browser you are using to access the forum and a function of whether or not your e-mail runs through the same browser.
Personally, I use a completely separate browser (actually several) to access model railroad fora and hobby store sites. That way, I can leave my tabs in place for sites I prefer and keep purchase info out of the cache in my main browser. If I need to e-mail one of them, I use my main browser.

I sent this to Crowdstack as a suggestion. The behind-the-scenes code to do this is pretty simple.
Great idea. I always try to copy email addresses, especially after I misspelled one on a Paypal transfer. This would be one step better.

Thank you.
I don't see why they can't just make the email link a hot link that kicks off your configured email client for your particular machine. Many websites have this, and you just click on the email address and it fires off an email. For example, from Lionel's Contact Us page.
Clicking on that link takes you right to your configured email client.
GRJ, that's exactly what I asked them to consider.

Great minds think alike!
It should not be that hard to add the mailto tag which is what triggers your local mail program but mailto link can also lead to spam attacks.

Only registered users can see the profile email, that should minimize the risk.
