In the early days of O scale. ( mid 1930's) big club layouts were all the rage. Members would transport their engines in custom wood cases on run nights. One of the best custom builders was Fred Icken of NJ, who built engines to run for decades . Here is a PRR K4 built to 17/64ths scale with double gear reduction complete in it's traveling case from the mid 30's. Sheet brass and brass / bronze castings ..running on outside 3rd rail.

Thank you Cheers Carey

May I have your permission to use this picture for my "desktop" photo?

Also: you mention a "wooden case": do you have this, and if so, how about a picture?

It's sometimes hard to watch your videos, in that the stuff you have on your walls is as impressive as the engine being featured...I don't know where to look!

Is that code 190 or so rail? We had a lot of steel 190 at the WB&A Tractioneers as it came to us free (the best pricing!); I suspect that we had gotten a couple of thousand feet of it as there were piles of it under the layout even after the layout was finished.
