Running two ps2 engines all is fine then played a sound session that was saved. One engine was fine the other lost all sound. I did factory reset multiple times checked battery, with no luck. All other functions are good . Please help.

Have you tried running this engine in conventional mode to see if the sound returns?
Also, can you provide the MTH part number for this engine.
if you running the engines and had a derailment the track short could have damaged the audio output ic could have failed this is something that can be easily damaged form spikes on the track from shorts or derailments, The IC can be replace either 5 volt board or 3 volt boards ,audio chips! I keep the audio chips in stock. you might try running in conventional or dcs using the remote to increase volume! conventional volume us control by a volume pot usually in the tender if steam and in the engine if diesel!

you have a ps 2 3 volt board and as i had said already you probably have a bad sound chip! they can be repaired!

It can me a bad speaker, wire detached to speaker, or volume pot (if conventional). Can be the audio amp as mentioned. There is a reset in DCS and Conventional in the instructions, so try that. After that the engine needs to be inspected and tested. Speaker should be 4 ohms. G
