I'm installing PS2 into my Niagara steam engine. I tried a spare older board to make sure everything is working. It has some diesel soundset inside. The engine ran in AC conventional as a test. It would speed up or down as I turned the handle on my Z1000. I didn't hear any change in motor sounds? They didn't rev up or down just stayed at idle?
One thing that struck me as odd that I never noticed before, two of the three tach wires go thru the tether and connect to the seven wire plug. I was probing for continuity thru all the wires. The third outside wire on the tach, is not passed thru the tether? It's open on the seven wire plug in the tender at the board?
Would that be the reason that the motor did not rev up? Is that the normal wiring?
It is wired as I received the steam upgrade kit from the factory.
