"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Hello HONGZ forum! I'm an O scale modeler, but I've been looking at HO Passenger cars lately, and it seems to me that HO offers more freedom. As much as I dislike HO (too small for me [read delicate] and I suck at wiring so DC is no fun), I may transition. The thing I notice is that buying only 1-4 cars off of named trains or from series doesn't appear to be an issue. I like this as I am an Amtrak modeler, meaning that I also model private railcars as they are Amtrak-certified and technically have an Amtrak road number (80000 series). Now that consideration depends on one question-do all HO passenger cars that do not have factory-applied names or numbers but are factory-lettered come with decal sheets for numbers and names? Reason I ask is there are so many cars that are readily available and not to mention cheaper. If each factory-lettered but not factory-named/numbered car doesn't come with decals but decals are readily available, a transition seems very enticing.

A lot of walthers products come with decal sheets to name and renumber such as I did to my model of the hickery creek to give it the amtrak Number. But it is not a deal maker as decal sheets are only like 5.00$ and you can order them in PRR gold NYC white and many other colors as you need. I do more of the one off models such as the Knox and Kane railroad and the CSX F units.  any other questions?
