I have an interest in paint colors used on locomotives. While diesels require much more documentation, I would appreciate it if Rich or a member of the Fort Wayne organization would provide this info for NKP 765.
Specifically, I would like to know the type of paint (oil or water base), the brand name, exact color (there are different shades of black, etc.), exact color (names?) of lettering and striping (ie white or "aluminum" for running boards and wheels), and the exact mix for the graphite for the smokebox and firebox side sheets.
This is one of the best known excursion engines in the country. The type of paint info for this engine should be adequately documented.
Thanks in advance.

We tried Imron on the tender in the 1980's. The ambient air temp wasn't quite warm enough, and we got runs all over. Imron is a very touchy product with exacting application requirements. After that, we have used just about anything that was glossy black and could be sprayed, usually the conventional Dupont product lines. With coal burning steam locomotives it is a losing battle to have automobile type paint jobs.
