Any experience?
Tamiya's website shows a couple very dark greens. Maybe just painting it black would be best?
I was kinda surprised to see that Microscale has the O decals
Thanks, Jim

Probably.....
I have a MTH LIRR RS-1 that is painted DGLE.....hard to tell that it's not black. And MTH made both black and DGLE versions of this engine.

Thanks, Bob ... yea, I will just go with black. I want it to look along the lines of your engine, not some odd green.
I was also looking at HO forums. Listened to some heated DGLE/Brunswick Green arguments. Some people get a little too geared-up angry over this stuff. lol
Cool looking Long Island RS-1s. I have the MTH Jersey Central version. These RS-1s have that ornery, industrial look that I like.

I was going to suggest black as well. There should be a hint of green in it but as you state a lot of people get worked up over it. The darkest green you can find would work pretty well too.

When I opened the engine up I thought that Trainworld had given me a black one. When I called they said that I had the green version. They said that the DGLE's have silver horns, black has a black horn.
I love the RS1's too. Too bad ALCO changed the cabs and took the overhangs off. Gives them a distinctive look.
Yes- the DGLE debate can get heated......too much for me to sweat about.
Bob
Pardon my ignorance, but what is DGLE?
Tom
DGLE is Dark Green Locomotive Enamel. It was 7 parts black to one part Brunswick green. It was nearly black in all regards, but there was a slight tint of green in various light. Using black for the above application would definitely look proper.

Thank you Jeff.
