Is anyone else getting multiple emails for topics? For the last couple of days, I'm getting two or three emails, sometimes hours between them, for the same topic notification.

Yes. I only guessed it was due to the holidays. All this black sell this and that stuff.

No; not here.
I have definitely had that happen (I think a couple times within the past week). Also, I've had them show up hours later or not even at all.
no issues here, just single notifications for the threads I'm following
I've been getting it too lately, this morning i had 18 notifications from one person.
Last week i had 22 notifications from one person. I thought it was just my computer,
now i see it's not just me
Thanks,
Alex
Mine seems to be working as it always has. No problems here yet. I have road runner for an ISP, could it be an ISP thing?
I get the samething.
Not just recently, a few times. Usually at the beginning of the month, or after an MS update. Figured it was the email program being sure of delivery, because I've received duplicates of other emails before, even ones from myself while abroad.
I had a few myself and turned off the notifications.
Likely a product of the infected TCA ED website, back in October....
Real Answer: Presume you have checked, but go back to those posts to ensure that your last posting to the topic has the "Follow This Topic: Notify me about new replies to this topic" UNCHECKED. You can do by just going the edit symbol in the low right corner of your last posting, make the change, resubmit (so your posting will show you made an edit), and then see what happens.
These are posts that are time stamped before my last visit to the forum, and I had deleted all of the notifications prior to leaving. A few hours later, I get the notifications again, but they're still timestamped earlier in the day.
Sure sounds like a mail server problem? I have had that happen before, but not with the forum messages here. It was just regular old email that kept coming in, I would delete it, then it came back. Luckily it has been a long time since the last episode.
It could be, but it's only the email from OGR, no other incoming mail has been duplicated like that.

I would suspect the forum's email provider, but I haven't gotten any duplicates yet? The fact not everyone gets them is odd for that theory? Maybe it's in the way your email server is handling just the OGR messages? Strange occurrences indeed. Sun spots? Gamma rays? Flux Capacitors?
I used to have SWBell (now AT&T) and they had terrible problems with stuff like this, spam was terrible. Email was just about un-useable. Switched to road runner (TWC) a few years ago and almost no problems since then. Maybe RR has different filters or something?
I use Verizon here, I could change to a different mail server. Interesting that I'm not getting repeats of the subscribed For-Sale forum, only the threads that I'm subscribed to.
I haven't seen it for a few hours, maybe the storm has passed.
Maybe they finally got all the gremlins in the microwave? I am set to get all forums and all threads I post to with a few additional followed threads to boot, still no duplicates. That's too much though, have to go back to just the ones of interest. I keep getting lost in all the mail and lose track of what I wanted to follow.
Rocky, this time zone behavior has nothing to do with the OGR Forum. The forum software doesn't know or care what time zone you are in.
As for the multiple replies, I have not see it on my end. It's the same as it has always been. I get alert emails for every post in this forum and have received one email for each reply in this thread.
not me

Rich,
I was using my iPhone to access the forum both times it happened. Wish I would have been able to get a screen-capture of it. Strange... Possible it's an iOS bug.
