Using a DCC contoller + pwr supply as one cab on a 'conventional' block-with-cab-selector layout, especially one using common rail return, is not a good idea, because "sooner or later" the gap between the two types of systems will be accidently bridged, with expensive results.  To combat this problem, Lenz introduced the LT100, which was installed between the DC cab and track, and killed DC power if a DCC signal [ I guess -- or just waveform ] was detected.   But Lenz discontinued the LT100 years ago.

Does anybody make a simple device that detects the DCC signal and either opens the circuit [ a la Lenz ] or, better still, opens another contact closure ?

Best, SZ
