If you are talking about the the one leaving from Vancouver and climbs through the spectacular Rockies and you spend nights in really great hotels, then YES YES YES!!  Wife and I did this for our fortyth anniversary and it was really great.   Pricey, yes, but was worth it.  Met people from all around the world.  Got to see some really great views.  And of course train riding wasn't bad either!!

One hotel we stayed at found out we were honeymooning and upgraded us to honeymoon suite and complimentary bottle of wine.  Can't gaurantee they would do this for you though.

This last September, my wife and I took a one day trip from Vancouver to Whistler and back. The trip was great and the service was first class. The next day we took the two day Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Banff which included an overnight in Kamloops. I can't say enough good about the trip. As you must know, they aren't cheap, but I really felt that we got our monies worth. I am sure that you would not be  disapointed if you chose to take the trip.

I totally agree with ELBob's comments.  We went in the opposite direction, i.e., we started in Banff and ended in Vancouver.  The scenery was spectacular, and the service was great.  If you can afford it, go Gold Class.  You will ride in a domed car, and breakfast and lunch are served on the lower level of the same car.  Dinner is served in your hotel.
