Does anyone know if they really had red and silver SD45's, or were they all blue and yellow? I've been searching the web for a real train photo, but all I see is blue and yellow. I just bought an MTH Railking red/silver SD45 (GOT IT CHEAP) and wanted to know if any really exist. I've actually thought of repainting it, but maybe I'll fall in love with the colors????? They both, in my opinion look nice in any case. That's not a picture of my MTH engine, but one of the few that I found on-line.

Fantasy scheme.
Santa Fe "returned" to the Warbonnet livery with the GE Dash 8-40BW in the very late 1980's. The EMD SD-45s predated them, and never had the livery applied.
@strate8 posted:I haven't seen any SD45 units with the "war bonnet" scheme but here's a picture of my SD40-2 from MTH in war bonnet coloring.
BTW: Also a fantasy paint scheme.

Thanks for all the comments and answers. I didn't think they made them, but wasn't sure.
Dash 8-40BW was done by Atlas 20+ years ago. These Atlas models at the time had TMCC mother boards that did not operate well. SAW Gen2 boards tended to fail, at the time, were replaced with TAS (Train America Studio) EOB (Engineer On Board) electronics. Today these aged models?? would be an interesting puzzle of options for the electronic drive system.??
