Here is my first completed dabbling in S gauge. I built these cars out of styrene, using Kadee 802 couplers and hi-rail wheelsets from American models. These cars, since they are articulated, won't go around standard AF 20" radius track, but that's all I had, so I had to put a straight track in between each curve section. The loco is an American Models GP-35.

Very nice! Could you post a photo or two showing a close up of the cars? Also, did you have a set of plans for this, or did you "freelance" the project?

I built these by looking at prototype photos on rrpicturearchives and scaled the measurements out to 1:64.
The below photo shot from above shows how close the cars are to touching when going through a curve connected to a straight on either side. Connect two 20" curves together and something's gotta give!
It has come to my attention that these well cars i made are actually National Steel Car, not Trinity/thrall. According to railcarphotos.com, these were manufactured at their Hamilton, ON plant between Nov 2007 and Jan 2008.
