Attached FYI. Conveniently the last digit of each file is the page number in the document. (Almost like I planned it! ) The inside page of the front cover is blank so I did not send it. This is the same generic manual K-Line included with all their later steam, conventional or TMCC. This is the one that came with the Hudson #5344; note the number in the lower right corner of the last page.

Rod and Norton, thank you both very much.  I acquired my Hudson from a Forum member earlier this year, the 5344, conventional.  I have upgraded with ERR TMCC and RS, installing a PS1 smoke unit removed from another MTH engine I upgraded.  Still, I do not have any paper work/manuals with and prefer to have what I can.  True, would be nice if K Line provided more detailed info with their engines, more than the simple, also generic repetitive.  Also, I am upgrading to a ten pin tether for the chuff info sent back to the tender and the ERR upgrades for chuff sounds.  For now, have put in the ERR supplied reed switch/magnet in the engine (drive wheel), but doing just for "reference" and learning curve purposes.  I have no doubt I will later go with John's Super Chuffer and Chuff Generator.  But, want to get inside this Hudson first and have a look around before committing to that.  Also, will install one of his LMS once I have gotten one completed, should be soon, along with all else I have on my plate.

Pete, I do have the K Line St Fe Berk, but the installed cruise "went North" on me and I replaced it with the ERR Cruise M.  Works great, and also replaced the can motor while I was at it, upgraded to larger can.

Again, many thanks for the information.

Jesse, Tell us more about the larger can motor you used in the Berk. The K-Line layout usually doesn't allow much room for a bigger motor.

IMO the K-Line Berks were and are the bargains today and can be had for less than a third of the current offerings by MTH and Lionel. Well worth upgrading to current standards.

Pete,

Do not recall the item/model number.  But I purchased from Brausser's Trains (sic) back in 2013 when I did the ERR upgrade.  You do not have to have the flywheel reader with the ERR Cruise.  Their method is to read the EMF (correct?) from the motor and use that to regulate speed.  The can I installed to replace the original pulls much better and runs smooth, I am certain the ERR Cruise has a lot to do with that.
