Does the GP7 have one or two can motors?

Indeed. Nice job, and nice engine. That scheme has long been a favorite of mine. I am hoping Santa will notice my longing for a LC+ Mikado this year...

Trestrainfan, yes it has two motors, one on each truck.  

The cab lights are cool.   The headlights are brighter those of the steamers.   The diesel start sequence sounds good - I'll try to capture a video of that.  -Ken

Thanks for posting.  Love the layout, simple and elegant, great job!  I just picked up my Burlington GP-7 yesterday from Pat's Trains, in Wheeling.  Anxious to get it up and running.  

J Scott, the outside loop is O-36 minimum, mixed with O-48, with O-60 turnouts and O-60 easements.

 

The inside loop is O-36 with O-48 easements.

 

Very nice, Ken.  I love that Burlington scheme and it sounds good too.

Ken-Oscale, thanks for the info on the motors. It sounds like the LC+ diesels are pretty nice.

Looks great Ken!  I really like the angle of the 2nd video.  Looks like a big wreck in the making... averted at the last second!  

Here is a short video with the diesel startup sounds.   The loco beeps and the cab lighting flashes until the remote is turned on, which triggers the startup.

Ken, those LionChief + engines are great.  Your new Burlington GP-7 has a super paint job.  Just think, Lionel has more and better LionChief items down the road.  I can't wait.  I just ordered my Santa Fe GP-7.  Thanks for posting video's.

Ken, I noticed the hand rails differ from the lionel stock photos. Are they all metal and on the end rails do they have the two rivets?
Love the burlington and would love to see one up close.
Could you maybe do another short video with the crew talk sounds?

Lionelzwl2012:   The hand rails do not have rivets at the ends or anywhere else.  The are the "sturdy stamped metal handrail" type as part of the frame.

 

I'll video the crew-talk tomorrow - I didn't even think of that.  Should be fun.
