Hi Mike always loved that roundhouse you did a great job building and weathering it the Quincy Mine and Machine is unbelievable looking really nice job many hours building that one layout must look great love to see more pictures of it thanks 30thstreet

I'm just going to use the standard MTH O scale smoke unit because they smoke like nobody's business. I haven't decided how I will power them but I am going to see if I can get the circuit boards from the MTH coors brewery to make life a bit easier. otherwise I will figure it out. My smoke stacks are going to be 3/4 inch copper plumbig pipes with a 1" to 3/4 reducer on the roof. For the flickering furnace I'll use a bunch of Evans designs fire kits. they are only $7 for 3 LEDs and I can load up the furnace with em

This is a just completed scratch build.  The shell is bristle board covered with Plastruct rough brick.  The small windows are Rusty Stumps with fabricated bass wood frames and the freight doors are also Rusty Stumps.  The personnel doors are Grandt Line.  The large windows were purchased at York 15 - 20 years ago.  The exhaust vent is fabricated from bass wood & balsa and the water tank is a new Korber kit.  It is lit with 22 leds from Christmas lights wired cathode to anode with a ballast resistor for each pair.

Confusing Duffy's with Ameritown was an easy mistake to make because the window arches do look very much like one Ameritown type, but it is recognizable as DPM because of the size of the panel and the keystone in the top of the arch being different: the DPM panels are narrower than the Ameritown, and only two stories in all cases,  with smaller bricks, too.  DPM is quite wonderful for bashing - a bit easier to use than Ameritown due to how one can put the brickface columsn over junctions between panels. But they are harder to get now.  Both the light brown building in the middle and the yellow restaurant to the right in the photo below are made with those same panels as Ross used for Duffy's.

Excellent job. I think they are finished nicely with accessory details like the wire spool, worm barrel and signs and that makes them very effective. Jimbo didn't get out of the burgeoning bait and tackle business to go into college football coaching did he (go Seminoles!)?  Well done sir!
