Just purchased a 6 pack box of these and have been unsuccessful in having them operate as advertised. First off , following manufactures instruction, I powered pins 1 and 8 with a simple 9VDC battery. No movement at all, so swapped batteries and still nothing. Voltmeter said 9 VDC. Next ran them thru programming and test with my NCE Handheld DCC system and worked just fine. So what am I missing?
Next, I wired the units per the supplied diagram for manual SPDT switching using the C1,C2, and Grnd solder points as this will be the primary control method. My understanding is that once wired per this diagram BOTH methods (SPDT or NCE Procab) of throwing the turnout points are functional. At present each feature works independently. I can throw the points in both directions using one of these methods but once the point thrown it cannot be reversed using the alternate method.
I assume that this is simply due to my lack of DCC or other knowledge, not a manufacture issue. I await to be educated. Thanks in advance.
