The smoke unit on my Lionel 6-17606 NYC Steel-Sided Caboose quit working. I took it apart, and see that the sleeve on the resistor is badly charred, and the resistor itself is broken. It's got a wire-wound ceramic core, and the ceramic core is actually broken into two pieces.
Lionel's parts list for this caboose does not show the resistor info. Do you know what the spec's are on this resistor, and where I can buy one? It would be an easy fix to replace if I knew exactly what to get. Thanks.
