Happened to stumble across the original track plans for South Station Terminal in Boston - one of the grand old train terminals in America located between Atlantic Avenue and Fort Point Channel off Boston Harbor.
Opened in 1899 at a cost of $3.6 million dollars which must have been quite a bit in those days and by 1913 was the busiest train station in the world.
Note the multiple reverse curves crossing the tracks.
And I thought my layout was complicated !
