My son and I took a drive in his car today. Went to see if the Eureka Springs RR was still in existence, well it is still there. Sign say open Tues. through Sat. So we walked around a bit and shot a few pics. #201 their 2-6-0 mogul is still there, and incomplete #226 a 2-8-0, its getting pretty run down. I used to come here often to ride the Steamers back in the 1980's. They used to have another 2-6-0 that as wood fired, but I herd it went to Florida pulling a Train around some lake there I beleave. here are the pics.

I took a detour through Eureka Springs a couple of years ago to check this railroad and quaint town out, which is a short distance south of Branson, Mo., which has its own tourist road and other attractions (I didn't ride either one, but took similar photos and tried the buffets in Branson). Since then Branson has had a tornado, so I hope their train is still running.
Yes. Branson Scenic Rail Road is alive and doing well. I was through there a month or two back and they have several old Stainless Steel Passenger Cars. Some restored and carrying passengers and a few unrestored and sitting. We also have another little known Rail excursion here in the Ozarks, and for the ride its probably the Best of all. Its the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad; There motto is "The Best Rides On Us'' ; it is standard gauge. its diesel powered with old time heavy weight commuter coaches. They offer several different rides; the longest being 134 round trip miles. Its not all that far 67 miles one way; but its the elevation that's quite steep down the hill then back up. Springdale is at 3179 ft. above and Van Buren is 414 ft. above. Would Like to see A&M buy ES&NA's #201 and restore it to run on their( A&M ) run. We also have a Frisco 2-8-2 Mikado #4003; it was out shopped in 1950 or 51 and then given to the city of Fort Smith. It was checked over not to long back and deemed it was easily restorable. It is still owned by the City in care of another little gem; the Fort Smith Trolley Museum. Although they have no plans to restore to operating condition; sitting the have nowhere to run said engine. I think all four of these railroads and museums need to get together, sale some or trade some loan some equipment ( Steam Engines ) and put together a better Standard gauge Steam Train Ride. I think The A&M would benefit the most with the add of a Steam Locomotive. The A&M has the coach from the movie Biloxi Blues by the same name. It would really look good be hind steam. The #4003 Mikado is a local engine as it ran from my home town of Monett, Mo. to Fort Smith, Ar. in its day. So it would be a natural for A&M. Well that's enough train ridden for today, If questions arise or comments; I would like to here from you, if you likes my Idea, hit the likes button.
